Reviews for Gabapentin to treat Hot Flashes

Hot flashes are sudden feelings of warmth, which are usually most intense over the face, neck and chest. Your skin might redden, as if you’re blushing. Hot flashes can also cause sweating, and if you lose too much body heat, you might feel chilled afterward.

Although other medical conditions can cause them, hot flashes most commonly are due to menopause — the time when menstrual periods become irregular and eventually stop. In fact, hot flashes are the most common symptom of the menopausal transition.

How often hot flashes occur varies among women and can range from a few a week to several an hour. There are a variety of treatments for particularly bothersome hot flashes.

  1. This drug helps my post menopause symptoms tremendously. My hot flashes cause my rosacea symptoms to flare sooo bad. My face and eyes burn like they are on fire if I don’t take this drug. It’s great for insomnia also! I sleep like a baby. Without it I toss and turn all night. It also helps my terrible moodiness that comes with my menopause. It is prescribed for my back pain but it helps so many other things for me along with helping the back pain. The one thing I absolutely hate about this drug is it causes all over swelling which is why I keep going off of it. It also causes constipation but I can take my linzess or miralax to counteract that problem. It also causes me to eat enormous amounts of food. It’s almost like it turns off the full receptors in my stomach. But other than these terrible side effects I still love this drug

  2. I started taking 300mg just in the evening, but was still having hot flashes and insomnia. My Dr. raised it to 600mg just at bedtime. No more hot flashes. Taking 600mg once a day stops my hot flashes for 24 hours. Amazing medicine!
